Real Estate Agent Pre-Licensing Training

The South Dakota Real Estate Commission requires 116 hour of pre-license education prior to you taking the South Dakota Real Estate licensing examination. The 116 hour course of study offered by the Black Hills School of Real Estate is approved by the commission pursuant to SDCL 36-21A-34 and Chapter 20:69:04.E

The Black Hills School of Real Estate offers the required 116 hours as follows:

54 hours of Distance Learning (Home-Study)

This portion of the training involves study specific to the Principals & Practice of real estate in South Dakota. This is an online class.

62 Hours of Broker Associate Classes

This training takes you through some of what you've already been exposed to in the Distance Learning phase and expands upon it. You must attend the Broker Associate classes in a live classroom setting. There is a 4 student minimum.

Primary costs: Tuition Cost, Testing Fee and License Application Fee

We accept cash, check, Master Card & Visa.

Tuition is $1250.00. Including Tax . This includes text books, online exercises, study manuals and in class training.

Testing Company Fee for the 3-part State Exam is $196.00

License Fee payable to the State is $268.25

Part 1 - $850.00 is to paid directly to BHSRE via check, Master Card or Visa. Click here to download the registration form.

Part 2 - $400.00 is to be paid to the Black Hills School of Real Estate REcampus Web Site. This must be paid via Master Card or Visa on-line. Click on the RECampus tab above, select the Real Estate tab and then the Pre-Licensing tab to access. Add to cart then checkout.
